COIN is an American indie-pop band that was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2012. Their latest album, Uncanny Valley, was released in 2020 and received critical acclaim for its synth-pop sound and introspective lyrics. The album explores themes of identity, technology, and the human experience in a world that is becoming increasingly digitized. Uncanny Valley showcases COIN's growth as a band and their ability to blend catchy hooks with thoughtful lyrics.
Three poster design concepts were created for COIN. The first one, a lyric poster, visualizes all the words to their hit song, Talk Too Much . The second one communicates the dates and locations for a concert tour, Dollar Plane. The third brings the series together with a series of existential questions and bits from an interview with the band.
Process
Hand-written elements were used to add an authentic, human feeling. To add a touch of nostalgia, papers are ripped, crumpled, with food stains on top of each poster.
